Random Movement supplies us with his promo picks as he digs through his inbox and shares his top choices for week 19.

Audiosketch & Surplus – Leave It All Behind – Soul Trader Records

I was pleasantly surprised to hear these two were putting out another release on Soul Trader Records, and they certainly have set the bar higher, folks. “Leave It All Behind” is a nice blend of synth and soul, with a solid vocal line that will get stuck in your head for at least a week. Really great work from these guys.. and then I heard the remix by Villem & McLeod. WOW. Edgy, distorted bass and grinding, mechanical beats carry the vibe to the dark side. These guys really turned that catholic-schoolgirl-of-a-tune into a slut. Impressive work. Just go get it.

Detail & Tiiu – Delusion / Breakout – Addictive Behaviour

Heavy and atmospheric, these two tracks blend perfectly for yet another profound single on Addictive Beahviour. These two have had releases spanning Med School Music, Symmetry and Blu Mar Ten Music, reminding us that its ok to close your eyes when you dance. so they’re abilities as a production duo are amazing, without question. Delusion is a deeper minimal tune with an arid vocal to top it all off. The flip I’m even more impressed with. “Breakout” is a nice moody atmospheric banger, if you can imagine how that would sound. Big, angry baselines and vox drenched in reverbs and delays so much you’d swear these two live in the Mariana Trench. This release serves as a reminder that its ok to close your eyes when you dance.

DJ Hybrid – Bring It Back / Its Murder – Audio Addict Records

WHAT!?!?!?!? Hybrid making a soulful bouncer, you say? Why yes, and here it is. What a great piece of work “Bring it Back” is, starting out with some nice big atmospheres and a vocal bit from our past, and then it just drops us right into a big house-y bouncer of a baseline. Hybrid manages to turn up the heat on the baseline to get the grime in time. “It’s Murder” gives us that gangster appeal, starting out with a funky baseline and sirens from johnny law in pursuit. A little vocal bit about one of the ten commandments comes in, and then the guns start going off _everywhere_. A classic DJ Hybrid style that conquers the dancefloor. Kill it with fire.

Random Movement – Sleazy Bitch EP – Fokuz Recordings

Ah yes, how can I get away with reviewing my own tunes? I guess I’ll just say “Help me pay my mortgage with the purchase of these two tunes I did. They’re great.” Shameless self-promotion… or is it shameful? Probably the latter… don’t hate me 😉
