SMOOTH ft. DC BREAKS – CHAINSAW (ft. COPPA)
Chainsaw starts off with a dj friendly intro. A cinematic soundscape is laid out while a lone high hat keeps the time. The intro is short and stops to make room for a wash of sounds and tension until you hear the key vocal play out. Then immediately you get a blistering drop with crisp sound design and bass sounds hitting on the triplets. A tight and bright drum kit keeps everything glued together as the bass thrashes through the sound system. A nice balance of sound design and energy in this one.
SMOOTH ft. DC BREAKS – FU MANCHU
A tingling arp line and sci-fi atmospherics set the state on this one as a lightly filtered snare keeps the time. The tension builds up quickly and the drop smacks you in the face with an almost Prodigy like sound. The synth work on this is impeccable and is held in place by a brilliant drum kit. Well timed edits and soundbites keep the tune interesting as it stomps along. The lead synth sound is extremely well designed and commands your attention the entire time. This one is going to be played by all the big name djs for sure as it has massive crowd appeal. The sound design, mix and master really make this one a treat to play loud.
SMOOTH ft. DC BREAKS – ORIGINAL SOUNDBOY
A filtered break and a spacey atmosphere give start to the tune as the sound-boy sample delays in the background. The kick build quickly comes in and commands your attention as the tension builds up. The release into the drop is massive and hits you with intricate bass work and change-ups. The drum kit is light and simple as it keeps room for the massive distorted bass stabs that are constantly filtering and swapping out. The breakdown is similar to the intro and takes you in a completely different direction. This is the tune you hear in the dance where the MC screams SWITCH! You’re going to love how the vibe changes up so dramatically from the intro and breakdown to the drops. This will be a fun stepper to drop on any crowd.
SMOOTH ft. DC BREAKS – OUT THERE
The title track of the EP starts off with some next level synth work as lush pads are accompanied by an arp line that completely commands your full attention. This is only momentary as a crash comes in and starts the breakdown and build up. Filtered and twisted bass leads you into a massive drop where the bass comes full front and center in the tune. A huge drum kit runs right down the middle as the bass line twists and turns all around it creating significant momentum. Impossible to sit still while listening to this one. The change ups on this one are fun and keep your attention focused completely on the tune. The sound design has really taken front and center on this one as the bass completely tears through the speaker. A massive tune here for the peak of any heavy set.
