With producing under Ric Dolore so many years, why the change in name?

I did release music as Ric Dolore for my prior album and did use that name
from 2011 – 2021. I never really was sold on that stage name for my Drum n
Bass music. I did like it fit from a branding aspect for other genres of
music. I produce everything.

You have accomplished a lot over the last 10 years, Where do you see
your new alias ScrapKode in the next 5 years?

ScrapKode will be my main outlet for all of my darker music in the future.
NeuroFunk, Cyberpunk, and Industrial. I have plans to expand but I have to
keep them quiet for now.

Was there something that you used as inspiration during making this
LP.

Yes, there was an inspiration. I am a huge Warhammer 40k fan and I like
darker Sci-Fi in general. So things like Dune, Warhammer 30k/40k, and
Starship Troopers all inspired me while writing this album.

What was it like working with the Patrol the Skies family on this LP ?

Patrol The Skies was not involved during the writing of the album but has
been amazing to work with. I would count the Label Owner and the new Label
Manager as dear friends from all of the hours we have spent on the
marketing side of things.

What track did you have the most fun making?

I would have to say the most fun track to write
was the title track “Retribution”. It’s my personal fave.

When you are in the studio what is your go to piece of gear? Hardware
, Software, or both?  What is your favorite thing
about it?

I have to say that for the sound of the album, all of the Slate Digital
analog modeling plugins. I really wanted that analog feel to the mixes to
give that crunchy, degraded, and warm sound. Without them, this album would
be much more modern sounding and not fit the concept of
future-retro/grimdark Sci-Fi. So in fewer words, I trashed some of the
mixes to fit the vibe of the album as a piece of art. In general, I use
Reason 11 (at the time of writing) and Kilohearts plugins for most of the
sound design.

If you could colab with anyone who would it be?

If I could collaborate with anyone it would have to be Trent Reznor hands
down.

If you where a super hero what would be your super power?

If I had a superpower, I would be perpetual. Nothing can remove you from
the physical world only your soul can be destroyed.
