Marcus Visionary – Slave – Inner City Dance

In their never ending quest to uncover and stand behind the freshest cuts from across the Hardcore Continuum, Marcus Visionary & Lush’s Toronto based Inner City Dance imprint continues to build its ever growing profile as a label to watch. “In Our City” Volume 1 curates four crucial cuts of contemporary Drum & Bass sourced from a cast of artists who are all products of the cities storied love affair and history with the genre, and represent the constantly evolving talent pool of producers in Canada’s largest city.

Legendary Toronto Jungle Don and Inner City label head Marcus Visionary gets his claws out and shows his often overlooked sinister side on the punishing amen work out of “Slave”. Icy chords chill the back of your neck while cascading amens give way to a monstrous dub bass line before the vocal refrain unleashes a barrage of break switching junglism, penetrating reece riffs and sound boy undertones. Meanwhile menacing voices, twisting mentasms and eerie strings paint the whole track with a steely, lights out atmosphere. Absolutely lethal!

In Our City Volume 1 drops on Inner City Dance June 29th 2015.
