InsideInfo of Viper Recordings stops by to share his top 3 tips for getting in the zone while in the studio.
Tip 1
Preparation.
Use the time you aren’t really writing music gathering samples, making sounds, learning new tricks, experimenting. Create a good resource of sounds and material you can reach for when you are ready to begin the writing phase.
Tip 2
Write down ideas on your phone or on a notepad.
When you are sitting on a train or on the toilet etc and an idea for a track enters your brain, write it down. Because sometimes when you are messing about with a 4 bar loop and you are stuck for a direction, consulting your notes to see if anything you wrote down fits the idea really helps.
Tip 3
Turn off your phone / internet.
Turn off any distractions and focus your brain on the task at hand. Get those creative juices flowing by not giving a fuck about what your mates eating for lunch on Instagram etc.
