With esteemed producer, DJ an BBC Radio 1 presenter René LaVice
discovering the rising talent, Bristol based producer Halflight gets set to make his debut on René’s tastemaker Device label, with new single Out Of Love.
The first solo release on the Device imprint, Halflight‘s Out Of Love
demonstrates the talented producer’s skill for making a killer DnB cut. Boasting futuristic pads and melodic piano stabs that underpin a soaring vocal, Out Of Love gives a nod to the old school whilst sounding totally fresh.
When he can prize himself away from his Xbox controller, Bristol based producer Dan Wilberforce, aka Halflight, sits in a dark room pressing buttons and twiddling knobs for hours on end creating bleeps, bloops and squelchy bass noises.
As one half of the former electronic music act Cutline he wrote bonafide dancefloor killers Runnin’, Let It Go and Die For You and remixed some of the hottest records around, including Rudimental’s UK #1 “Feel The Love”. The duo also racked up nearly 10,000,000 YouTube views and played shows from the Isle of Wight festival, to full tours across Europe, Canada and Australia, including some of the world’s most renowned clubs, Fabric, BCM and Paradiso.
Since going solo as Halflight, Dan has had numerous releases music on DnB powerhouse Viper Recordings and the mighty UKF and has remixed The Jungle Brothers, Zeds Dead and Diplo & Sleepy Tom‘s “Be Right There”, which featured on Danny Howard’s BBC Radio 1 Dance Anthems.
His latest release “Lean” on Viper Recordings René’s rinse out tune of the week on his BBC Radio 1 show, which paved the way for his upcoming release “Out Of Love” on René‘s own DeVice imprint.
