Elevate’s Aussie hotshots Flowidus team up with New Zealand’s Trei and UK’s Linguistics to deliver an international dancefloor drum & bass hit in ‘Don’t Breathe In’.
A fitting marriage of Flowidus’ riff bass style and Trei’s steam-rolling bassline, ‘Don’t Breathe In’ is a dark and raucous track born from the idea of transporting the listener to their favourite club at 3am. UK mic talisman Linguistics’ pristine flow weaves between the distorted question-and-answer style bassline and snapping drums to round off a track that will be essential to elevate any DJ’s tracklist.
Linguistics starts the tune off rhyming over a very cinematic and well produced intro. He does a great job of building the tension and releasing it into him repeating the phrase “don’t breathe in.” After a few seconds, the tune builds into the drop and releases a solid dancefloor stepper that totes top notch synth work and a wonderfully filtered reece style bass that moves in and out of the tune fluidly giving movement to the piece. The listener is taken straight to the dancefloor for this heater and the mix and master really allow the tune to show off the amazing sound design here. Well timed edits, interesting bass change ups and solid vocal work round off this amazing stomper. All elements here tie together perfectly and create a well-balanced heavy tune that is sure to find its way into many sets.
